AHOY is becoming a nonprofit cultural organization with roots in New Haven and an open horizon.
Our purpose
We intend to expand public access to media arts, film, audio, digital storytelling, arts education, cultural programming, artist development, and creative technology.
That can mean space to learn, chances to gather, work to see and hear, and tools that help people make and share culture. Specific programs will be announced as they are established.
Where we stand
Ahoy Media Arts Foundation, Inc. is currently completing its nonprofit formation and charitable registration process.
The Connecticut Certificate of Incorporation has been submitted and is pending agency review. We intend to apply for federal public charity recognition. We are not currently representing the Foundation as IRS recognized.

AHOY is the public name. Ahoy Media Arts Foundation, Inc. is the legal entity being formed as a Connecticut domestic non-stock corporation.
Existing AHOY software, films, recordings, archives, and other creative assets remain with their existing owners unless a separate agreement explicitly says otherwise.
